Al-Maliki: We are surprised by the frequent talk about the threat without evidence

political| 08:36 - 20/02/2022
Baghdad - Mawazine News

The head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, called, on Sunday, to intensify efforts to maintain security and the rule of law and to reject outlaws.

Al-Maliki said in a tweet via Twitter, that Mawazine News received a copy of it, that Iraq is a state and our efforts are intense to maintain security and rule of law and reject the outlaws, so we regret their recent proliferation.

He continued, "What we have seen and heard recently in the media about threats to the lives of some political figures, we categorically reject them."

Al-Maliki indicated in his speech, "But at the same time, we are surprised by the frequent talk about the threat without providing evidence. But if the threat is true, we demand that these figures present their evidence before the judiciary, and we will be in solidarity with them, and if the threat is not proven with conclusive evidence, we demand the judiciary to hold them accountable." To avoid disturbing the security, stability and peace in the country.

Last Friday, the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, threatened not to remain silent about those who threaten allies and partners in the government of the national majority.

Al-Sadr said in a tweet via Twitter, which was followed by "Mawazine News", which he began with "my popular verse," "I am not threatening death.. Shekhovh who imitates Muhammad."

He added,

"Once again, the voices of the crushing monsters that are aware of nothing but the threat are rising...

Once again they are threatening the allies and partners in the national majority government, which is (neither eastern nor western), but its light almost shines from the sides of Iraq, its sun, its shade, its palm trees, and its soil. Faith".

Al-Sadr continued, "From here, I say: Enough of the threat and threat.

We will not return the country to the hands of the corrupt, and

we will not sell the country to those behind the borders
.

Most of the people are with a national majority government, and we will not stand idly by, and

we will not allow terrorism and corruption to control us
.

Our history is full of strength, patience, and steadfastness."
