Parliamentarian: Iraq is burning enough gas to produce 5,000 megawatts

A member of Parliament, Mudhar Al-Karawi, confirmed, on Sunday, that Iraq is burning enough gas to produce more than 5,000 megawatts.
Al-Karawi said in a press interview, "The oil fields are burning the gas associated with the extraction process, whose quantity reaches 18 billion square meters annually, which is a very large amount, if properly exploited, it will be sufficient to produce more than 5 thousand megawatts and achieve financial revenues of tens of millions. Of dollars”.
Al-Karawi added, "Iraq has a lot of wasted wealth, especially natural gas, in light of the presence of giant reserves that can turn into a large window for revenues that contribute to reviving the Iraqi economy and reduce dependence on crude oil, which suffers from fluctuations in its prices in recent years."
