Dollar selling limited in Iraq through instruction from Ministry of Finance 22 Apr 2013




Rasheed Bank has been instructed by the Iraqi Ministry of Finance to sell the US dollar currency in exchange of Iraqi dinar through the head office of Rasheed Bank and through its Shurja branch.
In a statement the Ministry of Finance reported that acting minister of finance, Ali al-Shukri, has instructed Rasheed Bank to sell the US dollars in exchange of Iraqi dinars. This will reduce the manipulation of USD price in Iraq.
The statement also add that not only Rasheed Bank but also Rafidain bank and all other private sector banks are selling USD currency for the people without any regulations which allows some people to exploit this method to buy large amounts of dollar from banks according to the price of the Central Bank of Iraq.
