Announced the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research that Iraq has reached a global ranking of 74 in terms of education in its universities. The general director of research and development at the ministry Mohamed Attia OS that "Iraq has reached 74 world ranking in terms of the level of Iraqi universities and the high number of researchers who have published research in international journals."

Sarraj said that "The ministry will hold international conference for the development of higher education in Iraq on 27 of this month, and which is held every two years and the decisions of the Conference announcement for the care of patents and finding appropriate markets for such inventions"

The ministry earlier undertook to send 500 teaching of Iraqi universities to European universities and other Canadian this year Bklv four billion and 300 million Iraqi dinars.

The Ministry of Education Ali and scientific research it is currently funding 13 research projects worth 167 billion dinars of investment budget as pilot projects, indicating that the time limit for these projects extends for five years.

The education sector in Iraq have been significantly affected by the international isolation that have plagued the country since the nineties of the last century, and Malhakha of violence after the fall of the former regime in 2003.
